Course Introduction
One of the key competencies in leadership is the ability to plan and organise a meaningful event. Leading a team of like-minded individuals to initial, execute and complete an event from scratch need a set of skills and knowledge. This course comprises of both theories and practical action steps to discover, develop and unleash untapped potential of each individual in the area of organising and managing community events.
Course Objective
To equip participants with the essential event management skills, knowledge and tools for creating, planning, executing and monitoring a real-life event. This workshop empowers participants to be proactive and take initiative to initial events that benefits the communities at large. Through case studies and interactive activities, one of the objectives is to expose individuals to foster harmonious relationship in social settings and the ability to look from a multicultural perspective while working in a team.
Course Outline and Requirements
The course will be a form of workshop, with active participation, involvement and interaction among participants and trainers. Participants will learn through a combination of lecture materials, ideas and experience shared through exchanging, case studies and role plays using real-life case scenario. There will be written worksheet and assignments to execute real-life event after this course. The new committee will be coached and monitored throughout.
The minimum entry requirement is age 17 to 30, proficiency in English and being a volunteer in any local organization/school/higher institutions
Award/ Certification/ Accreditation
A certificate of achievement will be awarded upon successfully completion (include successfully executed an event). Awardee will be invited to attend the other personal leadership courses conducted by BWS and be notified for all youth development programme and activities initiated by BWS.

Please note that a refundable deposit of $100 is to be made payable to “Blossom World Society” upon acceptance of registration for this BYDP camp. This deposit will be refunded upon successful completion of this 2-day BYDP camp.
In the event that registrant did not turn up during this 2-day BYDP camp, the $100 refundable deposit will be forfeited as the cost of this camp is fully paid and subsidized by Blossom World Society for the first 20 participants.
Kindly note that all participants must complete this 2-day BYDP camp (i.e. no partial attendance).
The Organiser reserve the right to change the date, venue or to postponed or cancelled the event at any time without prior notice to participants, in which case the Organiser will make effort to inform the participant prior to the date.
Trainer’s Profile: Mr Martin Tang
Martin strongly believe that leadership development is an on-going lifelong process. Having a positive mindset and the competency for constant self reflection, self analysis and self correction are crucial.
During his academic years, Martin has been given many opportunities to be student leader and held key appointments in various student clubs. With proper guidance and mentorship, his leadership potential and capability was further developed throughout his adulthood in both his personal and career life.
His leadership competency was recognised in different phases of his life. Martin was appointed as an Officer Commander (OC) during his army and reservist period. His dedication has earned him to be the NSman of the Year in 2001, 2003 and 2007 in his National Service formation. He has also successfully mentored 18 batches of student executive committees in Singapore Polytechnic (SP) Student Club and has received the Outstanding Alumni Award during SP 60th anniversary.
In addition, Martin volunteered actively as a Tae Kwon Do (TKD) instructor and held key appointments in Toastmaster Movement as VP membership, VP Education, Secretary and Area governor. He is currently the president of one of SP Alumni Groups and the Youth Development Director of Blossom World Society (BWS).
Throughout his career life, he assumed various management roles such as Group Sales Manager, Branch Manager, Senior Team Head and Senior Consultant in banks and financial institutions.
Although he has already obtained an MBA, Martin strong faith in contributing back to the society has further inspired him to pursue a Degree in Social Work with SUSS. He is also happily married and is a proud father of 3 lovely children!
